Potter Tetsuya Ozawa uses local clay and a traditional glaze (Chara), that originated in the pottery town of Tokoname, where he lives and work, in the creation of his ceramic tableware. Mr. Ozawa layers the surfaces of his vessels, and uses selective sanding to create the distinctive textures and coloration on his pieces.
